With this election, the specialist department is focusing on continuity and professional breadth. In the coming legislative period, there will be an even greater focus on implementing the measures of the national strategy for cell and gene-based therapies (GCT). The topic has been a flagship project of the specialist department for years.
"The GCT strategy is an important step for Germany as a research location. Now it is important that the announced measures are implemented quickly and reliably - also with a view to a permanently high funding volume for life science research. Our industry is ready to take the next steps together with politicians," says Dr. Anette Leue.
Another central concern of the specialist department is the dialog with the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Companies in the life science research sector develop key technologies for pioneering applications in basic research and for the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. They are particularly dependent on consistently high funding volumes in application-oriented basic research in order to turn scientific progress into marketable innovations - especially in the international competition for talent, technologies and investments.
The Life Science Research specialist department represents the interests of manufacturers and providers of research-related products and services in the VDGH. It is committed to an efficient research landscape and is actively involved in political and regulatory processes.
