VDGH statement On the draft bill of the Federal Ministry of Health Draft law to strengthen heart health (Healthy Heart Act - GHG)

It is well known that cardiovascular diseases are the most common cause of death in Germany, cause the highest costs for our healthcare system and have a high disease burden.

In addition, cardiovascular diseases are associated with a wide range of comorbidities. Against this backdrop, combating cardiovascular disease is an ongoing task for those involved in the healthcare system. The VDGH welcomes the fact that the existing need for action is being addressed with the draft law to strengthen heart health.

In a nutshell: The Association of the Diagnostics Industry (VDGH)

As a trade association, the German Diagnostics Industry Association (VDGH) represents the interests of more than 100 companies operating in Germany with a total turnover of 6.8 billion euros in 2022. They manufacture examination systems and reagents for the diagnosis of human diseases, which generate a turnover of more than 3.5 billion euros, as well as instruments, reagents, test systems and consumables for research in the life sciences, which generate a turnover of 3.3 billion euros.
