LSR action day in Mainz The event organized by biomindz and the LSR department reloaded

This year, the LSR department, together with biomindz Standortentwicklungsgesellschaft Mainz mbH and the Career Service of Johann Gutenberg University, organized the return of the legendary "LSR Action Day for Careers".
Volker Arps, Carolin Schächterle and Julia Rühl in a fireside chat

Why legendary? The event in June 2023 did not take place in a dusty university lecture hall but in the wine bar in the Mainz 05 soccer stadium. So for the reload of the event, we were once again looking for a modern setting and were delighted to be able to use the hip event space of the Gutenberg Digital Hub on the banks of the Rhine in Mainz.

Wednesday, June 4, 2025, 3 p.m., the seats are filling up. Almost 80 students have come to find out about industry jobs. This time, the program included a fireside chat between Dr. Julia Rühl (Bio-Rad) and Dr. Volker Arps (Bio-Techne), which was moderated by Dr. Carolin Schächterle. The two spoke openly and approachably about their time at university, their motivations and about a classic Monday in their current jobs as Field Marketing and Business Development Manager. The students listened intently, including when Dr. Andrea Tüttenberg presented job opportunities at her spin-off ActiTrexx in Mainz and Christine Gossmann from Boehringer Ingelheim gave valuable application tips for CVs and job interviews. At the subsequent get-together, the students were able to put their networking skills to the test. Julia and Volker spoke for almost three hours with many interested people about the advantages and disadvantages of a doctorate and answered many questions. All speakers, all organizers and all students unanimously summed up: "What a great event! We look forward to the next one!"
