Round Table Healthcare Industry Tackling MedTech strategy now

The VDGH welcomes the final report on the Healthcare Industry Round Table of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK) as an important signal for the future of the healthcare industry.

"The round table has shown that politics and business must work together to strengthen the innovative power of the MedTech sector. What is needed now is a national MedTech strategy for Germany," says VDGH Managing Director Dr. Martin Walger. "Only with better framework conditions for research, market access and less bureaucracy will Germany remain competitive as a business location," Walger continues.

The VDGH was actively involved in the dialog between the BMWK, other federal ministries and twelve trade associations and found the exchange to be valuable and forward-looking. "In our view, a continuation of this dialogue is urgently needed in order to tackle the challenges facing the healthcare industry together and develop sustainable solutions for innovation, security of supply and competitiveness," emphasizes Walger.
