LSR-FundFinder modernized AI-supported research platform for European research funding

The Association of the Diagnostics Industry (VDGH) is today presenting the completely modernized LSR-FundFinder of the Life Science Research (LSR) department. The digital platform helps companies to identify and better classify relevant research funding in Europe more quickly. It is based on a comprehensively updated database, which has been merged and updated using AI-supported processes for the first time.

"The new LSR-FundFinder gives our member companies modern access to a complex funding environment," says Dr. Martin Walger, Managing Director of the VDGH. "With the new platform, life science research projects can be found and evaluated in a more targeted manner. This makes it easier to analyze market potential and creates more transparency in the opaque jungle of European research funding."

Newly set up and technically updated

The LSR-FundFinder is based on a proof of concept lasting several months, in which AI-supported methods for information extraction, classification and merging of funding data were successfully tested. The platform offers a modernized interface with improved search and filter logic as well as an additional chat interface for thematic classification. The technical implementation was carried out in cooperation with Qvest Digital AG.

Data protection compliant and exclusively for members

All processed information comes from freely accessible, public sources. The LSR-FundFinder works in full compliance with data protection regulations and without access to personal data that is not publicly available. Access to the platform is reserved exclusively for VDGH member companies.

Relevant projects in one place

The tool bundles industry-relevant research projects from the five European countries Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and the United Kingdom. It covers central areas of life science research.

For each project, the project topics, the working groups involved, the funding amounts, the durations, the funding bodies and the original sources are listed, where available. This provides a reliable basis for market analyses and customer-oriented sales strategies.
