Statement of the VDGH On the draft bill for the second ordinance to amend the Digital Health Applications Ordinance

The Verband der Diagnostica-Industrie e.V. (VDGH) welcomes the intention of the second ordinance amending the Digital Health Applications Ordinance to integrate digital health applications (DiGA) more closely into the healthcare context and to enable in-depth insights into the actual healthcare process as well as to create transparency regarding the use of DiGA by insured persons and their satisfaction with its use. Overall, the VDGH advocates a shift in order to implement the application-accompanying performance measurement in a scientific, evidence-based and practical manner.

In a nutshell: The Association of the Diagnostics Industry (VDGH)

As a trade association, the German Diagnostics Industry Association (VDGH) represents the interests of more than 100 companies operating in Germany with a total turnover of 5.4 billion euros in 2022. They manufacture examination systems and reagents for the diagnosis of human diseases, which generate a turnover of more than 2.3 billion euros, as well as instruments, reagents, test systems and consumables for research in the life sciences, which generate a turnover of 3.1 billion euros.
