Geringe Kosten
Der Anteil der Honorare für Laboratoriumsuntersuchungen an den gesamten GKV-Ausgaben ging in den letzten Jahren kontinuierlich zurück: Von 2,78% in 1993 auf 2,15% in 2008. Die Aufwendungen für Laboratoriumsdiagnostik stiegen von 3,01 Mrd. € in 1993 auf 3,45 Mrd. € in 2008, d. h. um ca. 14,5% in 15 Jahren. Die GKV-Gesamtaufwendungen stiegen in dieser Zeit von 108,29 Mrd. € auf 160,76 Mrd. €, also um gut 45%.

Low Costs
Recent years witnessed a drop in the amount spent on fees for laboratory tests out of the overall GKV expenditure: from 2.78% in 1993 to 2.15% in 2008. The expenditure for laboratory diagnostics rose from 3.01 billion € (1993) to 3.45 billion € in 2008, i.e. by just 14.5% in 15 years. During this period, the total GKV expenditure rose from 108.29 billion € to 160.76 billion €, i.e. more than 45 %.
